Welcome to Hobby Tech Reviews! I’m the creator behind the site—a gamer, tech enthusiast, Gundam builder, and trading card collector.
I also work a full-time job making cans on 12-hour swing shifts. I build this site around that schedule because testing products and writing reviews are what I’m passionate about. Whether I’m trying new gaming gear, organizing my cards, or figuring out a gadget, I enjoy sharing what works, what frustrates me, and what I would buy again.
These are hobbies I spend my own time and money on, so I understand wanting a purchase to feel worthwhile. My goal is simple: help you choose products you’ll still feel good about after the excitement of opening the box wears off.

Sometimes that lesson is as simple as remembering to enable amiibo scanning in Tears of the Kingdom before deciding my Allmiibo is broken. Yep, that happened. 😂
How I Approach Reviews
I care about what a product is like to live with. Is it comfortable? Easy to navigate? Does it take up more space than expected? What starts bothering you after the first few weeks?
That means talking about the drawbacks alongside the good stuff. My Xbox Elite Series 2 controller had a sticking B button. Gemloader impressed me with its finish and clear pockets, but its size is a drawback. TopDeck’s flatter pages stood out to me, even though its materials felt less luxurious.
Those details help explain who a product might suit.
When I’ve used a product myself, I share that experience and the limitations of what I’ve tested. Buying guides can also include researched options, which I distinguish from products I’ve personally used. Manufacturer specifications help fill in the details, but they aren’t a substitute for firsthand experience.
